Holiday mode / Extended care
Use Holiday mode when the printer will be idle for more than a few days and you still want PrintGuardian to keep up with routine maintenance.
If you will be away longer than 2 months
For long storage periods, it will usually be better to empty and prepare the ink system according to xTool's long-term storage recommendation instead of leaving ink in the printer. Follow xTool's current instructions for draining or flushing the ink system before storing the printer this long.
For shorter holidays
Prepare the printer before you leave:
• Clean the pads.
• Add moisturizing liquid to the pads.
• Wipe the print heads as recommended by xTool.
• Empty the waste tank.
• Fill the ink tanks so the printer has enough ink for maintenance cycles.
• Pay special attention to the moisturizer tank. Make sure it is full.
Set PrintGuardian to Holiday mode
After the printer is physically prepared, open PrintGuardian and set the auto clean schedule to Holiday mode.
Holiday mode runs a maintenance clean roughly every 3 days. This matches the kind of standby maintenance cadence xTool recommends for keeping ink moving during idle periods.
Automatic shaker oven
Leave Automatic shaker oven auto preheat set to off while you are away.
If the Automatic shaker oven is not needed during the holiday period, switch it off or unplug it. The printer can continue its maintenance routine without preheating the oven.
Before you start printing again
When you return, inspect the printer before starting production:
• Check ink and moisturizer levels.
• Check the waste tank.
• Confirm the pads are still clean and moist.
• Run the printer's normal maintenance or nozzle check steps from the maintenance menu if print quality needs verification.
Once the printer is ready for production again, change the auto clean schedule back from Holiday mode to your normal setting.
